Mexican Lemons, Traffic Fatalities and Plot Data Figures can lie and...well, you know the rest.
Topic: What does plot "data" really mean for variety selection.
Did you know that as we increased our importation of lemons from Mexico from just under 250 metric tons to just under 550 metric tons, traffic fatalities in the United States dropped by over 6%? AND that a statistical correlation of 97% exists between these two seemingly unrelated statistics? What does that have to do with plot data, and why should you care?
We will be discussing the logic, structure and uses of plot data to make variety and hybrid decisions. What to do and, more importantly what not to do. How to find the right kind of data and how to reject data that is presented only to sell you something.
