Breaking Industry News – Monsanto’s Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Trait Approved

Xtend truck

Great news! Monsanto’s Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybean trait has received Chinese approval for import. This means that this soybean trait is now deregulated and farmers are free to purchase them for spring 2016 planting.

Peterson Farms Seed is prepared with five new genetic packages, protected by the Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybean trait.

Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans are tolerant to both dicamba and glyphosate herbicides.

It is important to note that there currently is no herbicide approved by the EPA for over-the-top application on these soybeans. It is doubtful if any dicamba herbicides will receive approval before spraying season.

Because these will most likely need to be sprayed the same as Genuity RR2Y, they will be priced the same as RR2Y soybeans. Great new genetics, great agronomics, same price!
